My Return

Greetings to those who’ve been reading my various ramblings. I’m writing this to explain my absence.

I’ve been on ‘holiday’ to the west coast. My life partner, Tina, and I drove 6400 miles in our slightly outdated, family van. Frankly, we’re both proud of the old Oldsmobile and may keep it for as long as we can. Through strikingly beautiful mountains, over straight, desert flats and wet, snowy plains … we made it with unwavering confidence. Ok, a slight bit of apprehension when the brakes smoked as we rolled to a halt after those afore-mentioned mountains but really … no cause for alarm. We’re home and kinda glad.

Vacations are exceedingly a treat and we take no prisoners when we approach our time away from the work-place. We work to play. This has always been our motto and we never waver. We both love to travel and taking the open road is our preference. We enjoy to actually ‘see’ our great country and not fly over it. There are times when we have taken to the air but driving is our favorite.

There are stories to tell and undoubtedly I will but not now. Now I just wanted to say, ‘I’m back home.’ Thanks for being patient.

If and when all of you are able to allow yourself some off time, I urge you to take in these great United States. Traveling abroad, I’m sure can be wonderful although I’ve never been. Cruising the Caribbean I’m sure is awesome with the salty air and incredible blue-green waters. Latin America must be lovely, warm and historical. All of these and many others are assuredly great places to vacation to. Just don’t forget the areas closest to home. Our USA has it all and most are breathtaking. Check it out.
